- an expansion of Category 2 eastwards from 1 January 2026, designed to capture inner-eastern suburbs that have a similar proximity to Melbourne’s CBD as other suburbs already subject to the levy
- an increase in the Category 1 rate from 1 January 2026, to approximately $3,030 (from $1,750 in 2025)
- a proportionate increase in the Category 2 rate from 1 January 2026, to approximately $2,150 (from $1,240 in 2025).
The levy assessment is calculated based on the use of parking spaces in the preceding calendar year. This means how you use your parking spaces during the 2025 calendar year will contribute to your 2026 return and assessment.
More information will be available, following Royal Assent. Please visit this page regularly for updates.
