The temporary pause on livestock duty will end on 30 September 2026. Approved agents, vendors and owner’s agents should prepare to resume paying duty on sales made from 1 October 2026.
Register as an approved livestock agent
How to apply using the online registration form.
Background information
You must register to become an approved agent for the purposes of the Duties Act 2000 and the Livestock Disease Control Act 1994.
We can register you. But we can also revoke, amend or place conditions on your approved agent registration.
Step 1: Gather required information
You need the following information to complete the registration:
- Your name/trading name and any business partners.
- Postal address and physical address of your main Victorian business.
- Victorian addresses where you perform or propose to perform as a stock agent.
- Types of livestock you will be liable for duty on.
Refer to the form for specific instructions.
Step 2: Complete your form
Complete and submit the form online.
Step 3: Lodge your form
Complete the form, then select 'submit' to lodge it with us.
