LinkedIn community guidelines

How we manage our LinkedIn page and what we expect from people who engage with us.

Respectful engagement

We value the comments and contributions shared on our LinkedIn page. We will not tolerate posts or comments that:

  • are disrespectful toward another person
  • may make another person feel unsafe
  • are discriminatory, defamatory, racist, sexist, homophobic or otherwise offensive
  • are false, misleading, off-topic, inflammatory or repetitive
  • contain commercial content, advertisements or spam
  • promote a product, service, cause or initiative
  • infringe another person’s privacy, intellectual property or legal rights
  • contain any other material we consider to be inappropriate.

Moderation

We monitor our LinkedIn page during business hours (Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm AEST, excluding public holidays).

We may hide or delete comments that breach these guidelines. If necessary, we may also block users.

Complaints

If you believe a comment on this page has defamed you or treated you unfairly, you can make a complaint.

Email corporateaffairs@sro.vic.gov.au and include:

  • a link to the relevant post or comment

  • a short description of your concern.

When we receive a complaint, we will:

  • acknowledge receipt within 3 business days
  • review the content
  • remove or hide the comment if it breaches these guidelines or may be defamatory
  • if appropriate, issue an acknowledgement or apology (this does not constitute an admission of liability)
  • escalate to our legal team where necessary
  • keep a record of the complaint and any action we take.

Our responsibility

Comments on our LinkedIn page do not necessarily reflect the views of the State Revenue Office or the Victorian Government.

We comply with relevant legislation, including the Public Records Act 1973, the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 and the Public Administration Act 2004.

We may keep records of posts, comments and moderation actions to meet our legal, compliance and accountability obligations.

Thank you for following these guidelines and contributing to a respectful online community.
