Background information
Victorian wine producers may be eligible for a subsidy to offset the impact of the Commonwealth wine equalisation tax or excise duty. You must submit claims for the previous financial year by 30 September.

Step 1: Check the guidelines
The liquor subsidy guidelines list the requirements to receive the subsidy.
To claim a subsidy:
- your sale or use must be eligible
- you must hold or have held a liquor licence
- you must have paid Commonwealth taxes.
If you have received the Wine Tourism and Cellar Door Grant, you could still be eligible for the Victorian subsidy for the shortfall.
Step 2: Gather supporting information

Step 3: Complete and lodge your form
Complete and submit your form online.

Keep records that support your claim for 5 years. You must provide them to us upon request.
If you receive a refund, reduction or credit in wine equalisation tax or excise in the relevant period, you may need to adjust your subsidy claim amount in the form.
If you discover an error in a previous return that affects your subsidy claim, you must adjust your claim accordingly in the form.
